Marble Beach (Saliara)
The most photographed beach on the island, with pure white marble pebbles and water in shades you'd expect in the Caribbean. The white reflects the light and makes the blue look almost electric.

Thassos
Emerald waters, marble shores, olive groves that touch the sea, and villages built by the hand of time. Thassos doesn't impose itself; it reveals itself. We share the corners we love ourselves.

Your closest taste of Thassos. Golden sand and the famous natural "arch" out at sea, a marble gateway shaped by time. One of the most photogenic spots on the island.

A natural pool carved into the rocks by the sea. Almost circular, with crystal-clear water and depth that tempts the brave to leap from the cliffs. A short trail leads you in.
Directions
25 min by car
Fine golden sand, lush green peaks dropping into the sea, and water so transparent you can see your feet at three metres deep. The name is not an exaggeration.

Twin coves next to an ancient marble quarry and early Christian basilicas. You swim in the same waters the ancient Thassians watched, then walk through their stones.

Two kilometres of golden sand with shallow, warm water, the family favourite. Umbrellas, beach bars, restaurants under the pines, and room enough for everyone.
Directions

A peaceful beach embraced by a pine forest, with shallow water. Ideal for families looking for shade and safety, the pine canopy reaches almost to the waterline.
DirectionsHighlights
Perched on a cliff above the Aegean, with views as far as Mount Athos on a clear day. Byzantine history meets Orthodox stillness; a stop that is not merely touristic, it is almost meditative.
A traditional mountain village of stone houses, slate roofs, paved alleys and cool springs in the central square. Try yoghurt with honey under the plane trees.
The historic heart of the island. You walk among 5th-century BC ruins, climb to the ancient theatre that still hosts performances, and feel the air of the same sea the Thassian sailors once knew.
Practical
The fastest crossing is from Keramoti, only 35 minutes by ferry to Prinos. From Kavala the journey takes 1 hour 15 minutes but lands you in Limenas. In July and August, book ahead, especially if you have a car.
June and the first half of September are the sweet spots. Fewer crowds, warm sea, and Thassos wakes up early without the midday burn. May and October are magical for walking and quiet days.
Thassian pine honey with almonds at breakfast. Throuba olives, the unique black olive that ripens on the tree. Fresh fish from the seaside taverns of Limenaria, and slow-cooked lamb in the mountain villages.
Public transport exists but is sparse. A small car or scooter unlocks the island. The full circle of Thassos is just 95 km, and every bend hides a beach.
At the Monastery of Archangel Michael and other sacred sites, shoulders and knees should be covered. Wraps are always provided at the entrance, but a light cardigan in your bag saves time.
